The Department of Sociology, Social Work,
and Anthropology offers a Bachelor of Arts in sociology with a major in
sociology as well as a major in social work accredited by the Council on Social
Work Education. The sociology major includes concentrations in
anthropology, criminology, and education and socialization.
Our program combines scientific and
humanistic perspectives to the study of urban and rural life, family
patterns and relationships, inter-group relations, social class and
race, cross-cultural comparisons, technology and communications, health
care, environment, social movements and social change, and pressing
contemporary social issues.
